Potomac Honors Two Recipients with Generosity of Spirit Award
Potomac’s Generosity of Spirit Award is given annually at the Thanksgiving Assembly to a faculty or staff member who exemplifies Potomac’s core values, demonstrates “generosity of spirit,” and inspires others through their actions. This year, the award was presented to two highly respected and tenured members of our community: Upper School Assistant Jeanette Bolton and Coach and Physical Education Teacher Glenn Adamec.
Ms. Bolton, who joined Potomac in 1990, is described as “the true ‘crossroads’ that connects us all.” Peers note that she is always there to lend a helping hand, no matter how big or small the task. Her tireless efforts and positive attitude are infectious– whether greeting students in the morning or ensuring that a lost item was returned to its rightful owner. Head of School John Kowalik notes, “She embodies the essence of this award with her tremendously big heart and genuine care for the people of Potomac.”
Coach Adamec, a Potomac team member for 27 years, is described as someone who “is all in, giving everything 100% care and attention.” He has been coaching on the sidelines for IS, JV, and varsity teams for more than two decades, including football, baseball, weightlifting, and conditioning. During the summer months, he continues to guide and inspire future athletes as the director of the Summer@Potomac baseball camp. Kowalik shares, “From helping find the best coaches for Potomac, to setting up an athletic field hours before a game and raking the field well after it’s over, Glenn wants Potomac to shine for our student-athletes.”
Congratulations to Ms. Bolton and Mr. Adamec on this well-deserved recognition! Learn more about the 2023-24 recipients.
