2025 August Academics
Welcome to August Academics! This summer programming series serves as a refresher course for students enrolled in grades 2-12 at Potomac for the 2025-26 school year. These classes aim to review important academic concepts and prepare students for a successful start to the school year.
- Upper School classes will be held the week of August 18, Monday through Friday, except for the College Essay Writing Class and Potomac Speech. The dates for this class is included in the description below. We highly recommend checking your student's sport schedule with the coach, before registering to avoid any scheduling conflict.
- Lower, Middle, and Intermediate School classes will be held the week of August 18, Monday through Friday.
Registration will open Tuesday, February 18 at 10:00 am and will run through Friday, June 13. You may view our offerings at a glance and find a list of classes organized by division below. Information about class size, refund, and cancellation policy can be found here.

Course Description: During the school year, fourth graders will use Math in Focus (MIF), a program based on Singapore Math model. The program focuses on an in-depth understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving, which may be unfamiliar to your student if they have not had previous exposure to Singapore Math or Math in Focus. This class aims at introducing basic problem-solving strategies that will help with the adjustment to the curriculum next school year.
