Education That Continues (etc...)

is an after-school enrichment program that offers a wide range of engaging and innovative activities designed to extend learning beyond the classroom. Through creative, academic, and recreational opportunities, students are encouraged to explore new interests, develop skills, and build confidence in a supportive and fun environment.

These enrichment classes are taught by Potomac teachers and/or other professional instructors in small group settings. The courses are offered seasonally – fall, winter, and spring, mostly Monday through Thursday to the Potomac community with the exception of some weekend clinics.

MINIMUM CLASS SIZE POLICY - Class sizes are small but we do require a minimum enrollment of 6 students per ETC class and 10 students per ETC Special Programs (classes/clinics). Classes will be cancelled when enrollment does not meet the minimum class size. Classes are not held on days when The Potomac School is not in session or when school is scheduled to have an early dismissal.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION -  There is a $40 non-refundable registration fee per child, per season for all ETC classes and August Academics. Full payment by credit card is required at the time of registration. For programs that do not include a registration fee—including but not limited to workshops, sports clinics, and the College Application workshop/seminar etc, cancellation requests made before the refund deadline will incur up to a $20 administrative fee, which will be deducted from the total amount paid.

For information about financial assistance for ETC classes, please contact Shveta Khullar,, Director of Auxiliary Programs.

Registration for enrichment classes is on a first-come, first-served basis and should be completed online. If this is your first time registering for an enrichment class, you will need to create your account when you register.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY - To cancel enrollment in any ETC class (including ETC Workshops, Sports Clinics and/or any other offerings), please email your cancellation request to the Auxiliary Programs office before the registration ends. Withdrawal or refund requests cannot be accepted by phone. The final date to be eligible for a partial refund is:

  • Fall ETC classes, Sports Clinics and Workshops is Friday, September 5, 2025
  • Winter ETC classes, Sports Clinics, Workshops, and Spring Break Camps is Friday, December 5, 2025
  • Spring ETC classes, Sports Clinics and Workshops is Friday, February 27, 2026
  • College Application Seminar (Summer 2026) is Wednesday, April 15, 2026
  • August Academics (Summer 2026) is Thursday, May 15, 2026
Non-Transferable and Non-Prorated Fees: ETC is unable to transfer fees between siblings, other families, or other programs offered by The Potomac School and the Auxiliary Programs Office, including but not limited to ETC classes, clinics, workshops, Extended Day, August Academics and Summer@Potomac. We do not prorate fees or offer refunds for absences from a program for any reason, including but not limited to illness (including COVID-19), separation, or dismissal from the program. Make-up days are not available.

Program Transfers: Families may request a transfer from one class to another, space permitting, by contacting the ETC office. All transfer requests should be made in writing, via email. We are unable to take such requests over the phone. All transfer requests must be submitted and completed before the start of the ETC season. No transfers are permitted once the season has started.

Any transfer requests received on or after the close of registration for the ETC season (see dates above for each season) will incur a $10.00 administrative fee. There is no administrative fee for transfers made before registration closes.

Any fees paid towards the original class will be transferred to the new program. However, any remaining balance will not be refunded after the close of registration.

Program Cancellations: If a program is canceled by ETC due to low enrollment, all payments, including registration fees, will be refunded in full. If ETC or any program associated with The Potomac School is forced to cancel or close due to acts of God or any other cause beyond the school’s reasonable control, refunds will not be issued for missed days.
