Robert von Glahn grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he played football, baseball, and ice hockey at the high school and travel club levels. He later attended Carleton College, where he lettered four years in varsity football and played club ice hockey at the Division II level. Since moving to the East Coast, Robert has continued to play in adult leagues and coach at the high school level. He is the founding coach of Potomac’s ice hockey program and has served as its coach as it has grown from a club, to junior varsity, to a varsity sport. A Level 4-certified USA hockey coach, Robert has worked with coaches and players from many of the club programs in the greater DC area. He is an 11-year member of Potomac’s Upper School faculty, teaching history and government and serving as 12th grade dean. In addition to coaching ice hockey, Robert has also served as a varsity football and junior varsity baseball coach, helping to bring Potomac the football MAC championship and three state finals appearances.
