Three Teams Place Second at State Championships

Three varsity teams competed in state championships earning second place. The boys cross country team finished in second place in the Division I race culminating a 4-year run in which they finished no lower than second place. Towing the starting line ranked third, the team competed hard for the win and turned in a gritty performance that fell just 20 points shy of a fourth consecutive state championship. Luke Carter '26 (13th), Trip Moser '26 (14th) and Eli Levine '26 (15th) each earned spots on the VISAA All-State team for the third year in a row. Avi Agrawal '26 finished in 21st just missing out on qualifying for All-State honors but ensuring that Potomac had an impressive showing of four runners in the top 25.

On Saturday, girls tennis traveled to Collegiate to take on the Cougars for the VISAA Division I championship. Although all the matches were closely contested, the reigning champion Cougars proved to be too much as our Panthers fell by a final of 1-5.

On Monday night, the boys varsity soccer team made the trip to Richmond for the VISAA championship match, their first appearance in the game since 2016. The match was played at City Stadium, home to the Richmond Kickers of the USL professional league. A highly competitive match stayed 0-0 until the closing minutes when St. Christopher’s was able to punch in a goal to take a 1-0 lead, and hold on for the victory. The Panthers end the season with a record of 15-4-3. Congrats to all our fall teams, coaches, and fans!
