The Alumni Office invites you to an eye-opening Zoom event with Lesley Mitler, Founder and Master Career Coach at Priority Candidates. Lesley is a nationally recognized expert in helping college students secure internships and post-graduation jobs and build a strong foundation for career success.

Today’s job market isn’t just competitive, it’s changing faster than ever. AI is transforming how companies recruit, screen, and hire talent, making the path to internships and entry-level jobs more complex—and often more confusing—for students and their families. Longstanding pathways are disappearing. New tools and timelines are emerging. So how can you help your college-aged student stay ahead?

This session will give parents clear and practical strategies to help their students—from rising freshmen to recent grads—navigate the internship and job search process with confidence. You'll walk away understanding what matters now: the right preparation, the right timing, and the right digital and interpersonal skills that employers value.

PROGRAM AGENDA:

6:00–6:30 PM | For Parents of Rising Freshmen & Sophomores

  • How AI is reshaping early career opportunities
  • Building a strategic internship and career plan starting now
  • Smart summer alternatives to internships
  • 3 mistakes students make—and how to avoid them

6:30-7:00 PM | For Parents of Rising Juniors, Seniors, & Recent Grads

  • What to know about the real job market today
  • Recruiting timelines you need to know (they’re earlier than ever)
  • Skills and experiences employers value most
  • 3 job search missteps that hold students back—especially late in college

Optional: We'll offer a 15-minute session at the end of the program for anyone interested in learning more about the investment banking recruitment process. Feel free to stay on if this topic is relevant to you!

These are the suggested topics we plan to cover during the program, though the final discussion may vary based on time and participant interest.

We are offering a program for rising freshmen to seniors on Tuesday, July 22.
