Our advisory program plays an essential role in creating a school culture where every student feels supported and known.
We recognize learning is a collaborative process, and each student depends on a network of caring adults for encouragement and guidance. Our advisory program is designed to build and maintain productive, honest and long-lasting relationships between students, advisors, teachers, coaches and parents.
Advisors act as a student’s primary advocate and serve as a bridge between home and school. Above all, the advisory program works to carry out the School’s mission of fostering each student’s intellectual growth, love of learning and strength of character.
The advisory selection process begins during the summer before grade 9. In consultation with a team of advisors, the Academic Dean assigns each ninth grade student to an advisor and advisory group. A typical grade 9 advisory group includes one advisor and six to seven advisees.
