Michael Granger Library (LS)

At the Michael Granger Library, we are dedicated to inspiring a passion for books and stories in every Lower School student.

In addition to this core goal, we aim to ensure that each child who passes through our library has the ability to independently use a library catalog to do research and find recreational reading material. Through their twice weekly library classes, we will expose students to a wide range of children's literature. From wordless books to biographies, from emergent reader titles to complex chapter books, we intend to make literature come alive. Through the continuing generosity of the Granger family, we host authors and illustrators throughout the year for special assemblies. These gatherings give children a peek into the magic and hard work that is the world of children's book publishing.

We also hope to be a resource for parents as we all work together to raise passionate readers. To that end, we invite you to explore the links on the left to discover books in our catalog, access a curated list of reading-related resources, and utilize the databases to which Potomac subscribes.

If you have questions, please let us know.

Happy Reading!

The school's librarians maintain a "wish list" of books to add to the collections of all three libraries. Anyone can donate books from the wish list. These books are placed into circulation immediately, with a dedication bookplate of the donor's choosing on the inside cover. The wish list on this website is updated frequently.
