"Witnessing the joy in a child’s eyes when he solves a math problem or she understands a concept for the first time is for me an unparalleled experience."
The “ah-ha” moment is the most wonderful moment in a teacher’s life! Witnessing the joy in a child’s eyes when he solves a math problem or she understands a concept for the first time is for me an unparalleled experience. As a kindergarten teacher I am fortunate to experience “ah-ha” moments each and every day with the students in my class. Their joy and enthusiasm is what keeps me teaching.
I began my career 14 years ago with the Alexandria City public schools. Along the way I attained a master’s degree in education. I moved to the independent school sector and taught at Burgundy Farm Country Day School for eight years before joining Potomac eight years ago. I have enjoyed every moment. Watching the students skip their way to the classroom each day reminds me of how much I love to work in such an inspiring and joyful place.
In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, riding my bike or simply enjoying a cup of coffee with my husband on our patio. Reading is another passion as well as spending time at the beach.
