Learn the basics of debating and persuasion from The Potomac School's nationally regarded coaching staff. This camp will teach students how to become more effective at persuasion, be it in a debate or in life. Additionally, the camp will help students to find their voice through public speaking. Students will learn the basics of Public Forum Debate (the most popular style of high school debate), Extemp Speaking or Original Oratory. All of our coaches have extensive personal and/or coaching backgrounds in the activity, and our head coach was the National High School Debate Coach of the Year in 2014.
Please Note: The camp day is 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Because there is no bus service at 5:00 pm, students will need to be picked up on campus each day. Lunch is provided for Debate Camp.
