Cooking - From the Ground up

This three week, half-day cooking camp will teach your aspiring young chef the basics and then how to use their new skills. We'll learn how to follow recipes and make a variety of dishes from around the world, including quiche, dumplings, homemade pasta, chicken teriyaki, enchiladas, and many more. Our baking sessions will include muffins, cookies, soda bread, biscuits, and more. Camper requests are also taken into account.

We aren’t just following the recipes, but learning how to improvise and be creative in the kitchen. Each day will include demonstrations by our head chefs. Then campers will work in small groups to make their own dishes to enjoy at camp and bring home to show off to family and friends. This is a very hands-on, full participation camp.

This morning, half-day camp may be combined with Discovery Camp to make a full-day experience for your young chef! See Musical Theater for other full-day options.

Please Note: The recipes are not designed to accommodate gluten, dairy, or vegan dietary restrictions. While we do not use nuts in our recipes, Potomac is not a nut-free camp.
