Summer Programs

Whether you have been a part of the Potomac School Summer Programs community for years, or you are just learning about us for the fi rst time, welcome to the start of a great summer.

We are excitedly preparing for Summer 2008 and hope that you will be a part of the fun this year. You will find that our programs, teaching staff, and facilities create the perfect environment for children to grow, play, and discover.

Our Programs

As you look at our program, you will see the breadth and depth of our offerings that attract children of all ages and interests. Take advantage of our flexible offerings and create a customized camp schedule that fits the interests and needs of your child. Each program provides enriching experiences for your child in a supportive environment. Many of our campers return year after year because they fi nd this to be a place where they are encouraged and inspired to try new activities and challenges, meet friends, and have an incredible summer.

Our Teaching Staff

Our dedicated and eager staff members make the campus come alive. Carefully selected for their experience, creativity, and enthusiasm, they are committed to building fun and high-quality programs for children. Professional teachers and experienced instructors form the core of our teaching team. Each of our Head Counselors meets or exceeds the Virginia Department of Social Services requirements for “Lead Teacher” and many have more than 10 years of classroom teaching experience. Additionally, college and high school students with strong mentoring skills serve as assistants in most of the camp groups. The quality of instruction and the low camper-to-staff ratio enable each child to enjoy a positive summer experience.

Our Facilities

Located five minutes from Chain Bridge in McLean, Virginia, Potomac School Summer Programs makes use of the school’s 90-acre campus. Our woods, streams, ponds, and nature trails provide an ideal setting for exploration and discovery. The swimming pools, playgrounds, and sports fields encourage a wide assortment of outdoor games and learning opportunities. The classrooms, gyms, computer and science laboratories house diverse indoor activities. We are excited to launch our new entirely on-line registration process this year. We believe this will be a great convenience for families to register whenever and wherever works best for them. We will happily provide assistance if you have questions about any aspect of our Summer Programs. Simply call our offi ce at 703 749-6317 or email us at Summer_ Programs@potomacschool.org.
