OneNote Offers Big Opportunities in Intermediate School
As students and teachers in the IS learn OneNote, the powerful organization and communication tool on their tablet laptops, they are poised to begin using digital technology in almost all of their academic subjects.
This month will see eighth grade students using an Excel spreadsheet calculation to design a balloon project. Students will be using interactive exercises to supplement classroom work in foreign languages, including exploring the use of voice recordings for speaking assessments. In art, students will combine digital photography with drawing to create handmade books. In math students will use the new tools of Microsoft Journal and Mimio Notebook to work on their problems. Students in eighth grade will continue to use their tablets to work with virtual manipulatives from the Natural Library of Virtual Manipulatives and other resources. These are a few of the highlights of the technology tools that students will be exploring as they develop their individual electronic portfolios.
A special Tech evening will be held for parents on October 23 at 7:00 pm in Langstaff Auditorium so that parents can learn more about our technology program designed to promote 21st century learning.
